Louis Caporale
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, in the United States, Louis first started
violin-making at the age of fifteen under the guidance of Lloyd
Kunkle.
He continued studying violin-making at the Chicago School of Violin
Making under Tschu Ho Lee, and graduated from there in 1988. Moving
to Japan the same year, Louis worked for various firms until he
established his own shop in 1991. The new instruments he makes are
made after the tradition of the Torino school, most of which are
modeled after the works of Annibale Fagnola.
Now located in western Tokyo, Louis is a teacher at the
Bunkyo Gakki Luthier Institute, an accomplished violin maker and
a dealer of fine instruments worldwide. Please contact him if you
are interested in more information.
